It is my pleasure to say a few words as President of Rocket. On reflection, I feel extremely privileged to have served as President of the club since its formation seven years ago.

 

I think it is fair to say that Rocket has gone from strength to strength in the past seven years. In particular, significant strides have been made in recent years in terms of a rapid growth in membership and members’participation in and organization of events.

 

At first, club tournaments were only sporadically held; now we have regular monthly tournaments. The online scoring system that we have adopted now enables us to announce the winners just minutes after the tournament (so please stay for the results and congratulate the winning bowlers). Furthermore, the optional jackpot adds a tad of excitement to the tournament.

 

In addition to the Rocket tournaments, the club also helps keep members informed of tournaments organized by SCAA and other centers or clubs. To encourage members’ participation in the annual Hong Kong Open, the club takes part in the club draw and assists members’ enrollment. Our members have done well in many of these events.

 

All in all, and most importantly in my view, is that there is a warm and friendly atmosphere within the Club, to which I hope members will develop a sense of belonging, as well as a sense of pride.     

 

I trust you would agree that the changes over the years have made Rocket into what we are today, with over 100 members and a well-deserved reputation. This would not have been possible without your contributions.

 

I look forward to your continued active participation in the club tournaments and other activities in the new year. I am confident we will reach new heights – or shall I say higher averages – both individually and together as a club.

火箭保齡球會

會長的話

​

我很高興能以火箭會會長身份向大家講話，本會從成立至今已有七年時間，我感到非常榮幸在這段期間能為火箭會服務。

 

說句實話，火箭會在過去七年正漸漸地壯大，尤其是近年，無論會員人數或參與比賽的人數都有迅速明顯的增長。

 

火箭會在最初期的會賽只是無定期偶爾進行，而現在已有規律性的每月會賽，我們又採用了線上入分系統，務求令會賽後賽果能迅速公布，所以希望大家日後能稍留步向得獎者送上祝賀。此外，除大會Jackpot外，我們又增設可選擇性參與的額外Jackpot以增加比賽的趣味性及刺激性。

 

除了本會會賽外，我們亦會提供南華會球場以外的其他場地比賽資訊給會員，在每年的香港公開賽，為了鼓勵會員參加此一年一度的盛事，本會會派員到保齡球總會抽籤及盡力協助會員報名事宜，在過去的香港公開賽賽事中，本會會員都有很好的表現。

 

總而言之，我覺得最重要的是，在火箭會內凝聚了一種既溫暖又友善的氣氛，使會員都能孕育出歸屬感和自豪感。

 

相信大家都會同意，火箭會經歷了多年不斷的改變，而成為今天薄有聲譽及擁有超過100人的球會，這一切都是有賴所有會員共同參與所得到的成果。

 

我期望在身的一年，大家能夠繼續積極參與會賽及其他比賽，我很有信心我們將會再創高峰，或許我應該說，比賽平均分包括個人及整個球會再創新高。
